Let me tell a little about my dance history. I have been dancing since I was 4 years old starting out in ballet. I did ballet only for a few years and then added tap. Then added jazz. Dropped tap. Dropped ballet. Added modern. Dropped modern. Added modern again, and now, in my final year as a senior, I am enrolled in jazz and modern, plus a senior dance coriographed from 6 of us who are to be graduating this year.
Tonight was the first night that we actually sat down as a group and talked about what we want to do with this dance. We want it to be amazing. A hard piece, with fast and slow movements. In the end we decided that we kind of want the dance to resemble the poem "Fire and Ice" by Robert Frost:
Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

It's really amazing, and we were thinking of dancing to our own voices reciting the poem overtop of maybe some fast/slow instrumental music. It's all in the very begining of its making, but I think it will really turn out awesome. I've been thinking about this dance for 5 years now.
Well, we just finished decorating our Christmas tree (finally, yay!) so now it is off to be for me so I'm not extremely tired for my Math 102 final tomorrow. It's at 4:30 in the afternoon but still. It's cutting into my nap hour! (lol)
